Legal information

Terms of use.

The essential rules for using Duonook and sharing a Couple respectfully, safely and without surprises.

Effective August 25, 2026

The beta is free. Any purchases are always optional and show price and conditions before confirmation.

1. Supplier and acceptance

Duonook is provided by Guido Cacace, VAT number 13827430961, with headquarters in Via Alberelle 55, 20089 Rozzano (MI), Italy. For assistance you can write to support@duonook.com; for privacy issues a privacy@duonook.com.

By creating an account or using the service you accept these Terms and confirm that you have read theprivacy information. If you do not accept them, do not continue with onboarding.

2. Minimum age

To use the basic app you must be at least 14 years old or the highest minimum age in the country where you live. If you are not an adult, you must have the authorization of a parent or guardian, which is also necessary for any purchases when required by law or by the store.

Modes marked as adult, including the Red level of minigames, are reserved for those who are at least 18 years old. A confirmation in the app does not replace real and continuous consensus between people.

3. The service and the beta

Duonook is a private space for two people: it allows you to share moods, letters, digital gifts, rituals, lists, memories and minigames. The beta version is offered free of charge and may contain experimental features, small malfunctions or more frequent changes than normal.

Features and availability may vary by platform, region, version, security, or store requirements. We will communicate material changes that affect your rights with reasonable notice, except in the case of security emergencies or legal obligations.

4. Accounts, Devices and Pair

The account is anonymous: it does not require email or password. You are responsible for access to your devices, your recovery key, and the invitation links you generate. Share an invitation only with the person you want to add.

The recovery key is personal: do not publish it, do not give it to your partner and do not send it to support. Anyone who owns an authorized device or key can access the associated data. Without a key and an authorized device, not even Duonook can reconstruct access.

Each Pair can have two members. Some security actions, such as removing a device or deleting an account, affect shared space and can make content unavailable to the other person; the app shows a summary before confirmation.

5. The contents of the couple

You retain the rights to the content you post and are responsible for having the right to share it. By sending, you grant Duonook only the technical, non-exclusive and limited license necessary to encrypt, transport, store and display the content to the partner according to the chosen functions. The license ends with cancellation, except for the residual technical copies described in the privacy policy.

Duonook does not sell, publish or use private content for advertising or model training. However, end-to-end encryption also limits the media's ability to read, moderate or recover what you have written: carefully evaluate what you share and preserve the recovery material.

6. Correct use and safety

You may not use Duonook to violate the law or the rights of others, harass, threaten, blackmail, partner surveil, spread malware, circumvent security, or share illicit material. You may not attempt to access accounts, devices or infrastructure without authorization.

Duonook is not an emergency, health or personal safety tool. In a dangerous situation contact the emergency services or a qualified organisation.

7. Minigames and consensus

In minigames you can always pass, interrupt or exit without penalty. More sensitive categories require additional confirmation and may not be available on some platforms, regions, or versions.

Each participant remains free to change his mind at any time. Randomly selecting a person or presenting a challenge does not force anyone to perform it and does not make out-of-app behavior appropriate.

8. Virtual items and optional purchases

During the beta, access to the service is free. Duonook may offer optional purchases of Hearts, unlocks, digital gifts or additional features. Before payment you will see the total price, currency, content and nature of the purchase.

Payments made in the app are managed by the platform store or by the supplier indicated in the checkout, according to the relevant terms. Refunds, right of withdrawal and immediate delivery of digital content follow the applicable law and the procedure shown by the payment provider. Nothing in these Terms limits your mandatory rights.

Virtual Items are not money, do not earn interest, are not transferable out of Duonook, and cannot be redeemed for currency. They remain connected to the account or Couple indicated at the time of purchase; deleting the account may make them permanently unusable.

9. Availability, guarantees and responsibilities

We do our best to keep Duonook available and secure, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may temporarily suspend functions for maintenance, security, technical reasons or requests from authorities.

The legal guarantee and other mandatory rights provided for consumers always remain applicable. To the extent permitted by law, Duonook is not liable for indirect damages or consequences resulting from improper use, loss of the key, unprotected access to the device or content shared by users. This limitation does not apply in the event of fraud, gross negligence, personal injury or other liability that cannot be excluded.

10. Properties of Duonook

App, site, trademarks, graphics, mascots, catalogs and software belong to the supplier or their respective licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, resell or exploit the Service beyond what is permitted by law.

11. Cancellation, suspension and termination

You can delete accounts and data from Settings. The procedure removes personal and encrypted material and archives the Couple; some accounting or integrity records may remain without personal attribution. See the complete procedure.

We may limit or terminate access in the event of serious abuse, a material security risk, a material breach of the Terms, or a legal requirement. When possible, we will explain why and offer a way to dispute the decision by writing to support.

12. Changes to the Terms

The date at the top identifies the current version. Substantial changes will be communicated in the app with reasonable notice. If you do not accept a change you can stop using the service and delete your account before it comes into effect.

13. Applicable law, jurisdiction and contacts

The Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of the mandatory protections provided by the law of the country in which you habitually reside. For Italian consumers, the judge of the consumer's place of residence or domicile has mandatory jurisdiction. For users who do not act as consumers, the exclusive jurisdiction is Milan.

Before a dispute, write to support@duonook.com: We will try to find a simple solution. It is always possible to contact the competent judicial authority or the alternative resolution tools provided by law.
