Before deleting
The deletion is permanent. If you want to keep a readable copy of the data on your device, open Profile → Settings → Export your data and complete sharing the file before proceeding.
Create a JSON file with Couples, letters and memories stored on the device. The temporary file used by Duonook is deleted after opening the sharing panel.
How to delete accounts and data
- Open Duonook on the device linked to your account.
- Go to the tab Profile and open Settings.
- Scroll to the last section and tap Delete accounts and data.
- Read the summary and confirm with Delete everything.
- Leave the app open until the procedure is completed and the home screen appears.
If you are using local-only mode, the command looks like Delete all local data and removes Pairs and Memories from that device.
What happens after confirmation
With a logged in account, Duonook removes the account, Pair memberships, game sessions, authorized devices, and associated shared encryption. Local identities, keys and encrypted copies are also deleted on the phone.
Some records strictly necessary for accounting integrity or the prevention of abuse may be retained without personal attribution. The Nook is archived and identifying information is removed or replaced by anonymous values.
Once all authorized devices and recovery materials have been deleted, the encrypted contents are not recoverable.
If deletion is not completed
Reopen Duonook on the same device and repeat the procedure before starting a new login. The app only retains the technical status necessary to safely resume incomplete steps.
If you have changed phone, choose Recover my Pair, use your personal key and then start the deletion from Settings. Never send the key or contents of the Nook to support.
If you no longer have an authorized device or key, Duonook cannot verify which anonymous account is yours or bypass its security. support@duonook.com can help you with the app, but cannot rebuild access.
